Why do we need it? 

Self-love means that you accept yourself fully, treat yourself with kindness and respect, and nurture your growth and well-being.  Self-love is the ability to not fall into a puddle of shame or self-hatred even when you mess up.  It’s trying new things knowing that you could fail, without thinking of yourself as a failure.   Self-love is building a life you don’t need to escape from!

Practicing self-love is a lifetime journey not a one-time event.  If you’ve struggled with loving yourself, you are not alone as many people do!  Practicing self-care rituals like taking Epsom salt baths or buying yourself flowers can be an important way to treat yourself, but self-love also means:

1.      Maintaining healthy boundaries

2.      Honoring your commitments to yourself

3.      Aligning yourself with your highest good and consciousness

4.      Releasing those things that don’t contribute to your evolution and growth

5.      Decreasing the negative self-talk and the self-critic

6.      Practicing self-empathy and self-compassion

Self-love is taking actions that make you feel whole and completely embracing the knowledge that you are worthy regardless of external circumstances.  This truth is the power of the mind-body-spirit connection and can help you discover the deeply sacred power of human consciousness and unconditional love.
